Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection.
I thought this quote was so fitting...last Sunday Brady and I were baptised in our home church, College Wesleyan. Our pastor made the analogy that we die when we go under that water. Through the sacred art of baptism we are able to be cleansed of our sins and come up out of the water(resurrected) just like Jesus did for us on the cross. I was so humbled to think that I was dying just like he did for us and to come up out of that water a new person is so amazing. I can't believe how much it really changes you on the inside. The outward sign that I am choosing to follow God and have my family do that as well was something I was proud to show. I have come so far on my walk with my heavenly father this year and this was a way to be sure that I keep on moving forward. I was so glad that everyone I love and care about was there to see it happen...that meant a lot to me and I was glad that they all were able to see me continue my walk with my faith...I just feel so great and I feel that God is doing some amazing things in my life so please pray for Brady and I and our family as we continue to try to walk in ways that please him everyday!
