Friday we were taking a walk, which we do often when the weather is nice. Anyway we walked about 2 miles from our house and ran into a girl who was riding her pony. She was really friendly and asked if we would like to come over and pet the pony. Maddux was so excited...which didn't surprise me! He wanted out of the wagon so he could get as close to the pony as possible. The little girl asked Maddux if he wanted to sit up on the pony...whose name was Derby by the way. Maddux was so ecstatic...he just sat up there like he had been riding horses his whole life. I guess it might run in his blood. I started riding horses when I was about 3...after 13 years in 4-H and countless trips trail riding you can say I am far from a novice. I love horseback riding...and unfortunately since having kids I don't get to ride horses anymore. My grandpa still has horses and still enjoys trail riding...I don't think he is in any hurry to jump into the whole 4-H thing anytime soon. Well in the mean time I guess Maddux can enjoy other people's ponies...it is a lot cheaper and there is no work involved...that is my kind of pet. HAHA

Maybe Maddux can be a jockey some day and then Brady can fulfill his dream of going to the Kentucky Derby, but only he will be watching his son. Who knows what's in store for this little guy? :)
