Dead or Alive?

At church today Pastor Steve preached an incredible sermon. He completely flip flopped the way I feel about salvation. He explained you can be dead when your alive. Without Jesus we are not living we are alive but dead at the same time. We can only be truly alive in him. The feelings of jealousy, anger, bitterness, selfishness, guilt can all lead us to be spiritually dead. We get stuck in our ways...habits are hard to break. All these things keep us from having a true relationship with our saviour. By believing in him we never die. Death is something that we all will come in personal contact with, but in the same regard we avoid it. We cannot die if we have given our lives to Christ. Here on this Earth our bodies are merely a tent...we worry ourselves with things of this world and we look right around what is right before our eyes. By choosing God we are choosing to live on forever. From today on I am CHOOSING LIFE.....I want to live here on this Earth for him and him alone! God please wake up those parts of me that are dead and help them to live again in your name! I am holding on to you and I know you won't let me go God! Ask yourself are you living or dying?

Colossians 3:1-4
Since you have raised up in company with Christ,
set your heart on what pertains to higher realms where
Christ is seated at God's right hand.
Be intent on things above rather than on things on earth.
After all you have died! Your life is hidden now with God.
When Christ our life appears,
then you shall appear with him in glory.
