Back to school

Another summer has come and gone and we are settling into this school year quite nicely. We decided to send Maddux on to kindergarten this year instead of doing one more year of pre-school. This means Wrig and Maddux are in the same class at Lakeview. We wanted to avoid that but it has worked out great. They have the comfort of knowing that the other one is there but they have branched out and made new friends too. To say that they LOVE their teacher would be a huge understatement. She is wonderful and the kids come home everyday with new stories about how silly she is. We are planning on sending Wrigley onto 1st grade next year and letting Maddux do all day kindergarten since they are both just doing half-day now. Lakeview is a perfect fit for us....it's close to home, it's flexible and it works perfectly around my school schedule as well as Brady and Lisa's work schedules. All around we love Lakeview and are planning on leaving the little ones there until I get out of school.

Now on to Sydnee....she's a big 6th grader you know?! It seems like just yesterday Brady and I were dropping her off on her first day of kindergarten. Time flies....it is unreal. She has decided to try her hand at the flute and although that wouldn't be my first choice (mainly because I know nothing about instruments) I/we are very much supporting her with this. There isn't many sports that she likes and she hasn't really been interested in much else thus far so finding an extracurricular activity that she enjoys is refreshing. She has her own locker....I remember my first locker....that's a big deal. She still gets stressed because she only has 4 minutes to switch classes....I think she's got it down to a science now. She loves to read and enjoys science....she hates math. WOW that sounds a lot like me. I still love science and reading and loath math. I guess some things never change.

Next Tuesday this mamma goes back to school to start my junior year. It seems like I've been in school forever (probably because I have). I have 4 semesters to go.....FOUR!!!!!! I can't wait! After working all summer I am craving the routine and normalcy that the school year brings. I will be stressed out to the max for the first few weeks and then I settle in and enjoy myself. I've made some really good friends at school. Over the summer we had some Skype dates, we've texted a million times and we've Facebook messaged a trillion but I'm excited to see them after a long summer break. I'm still planning to work but not as much as I was this summer. I have an interview at MGH next week about working PRN (as needed) in their pediatric unit. I would still keep my job at the VA but maybe work a day or two a month at MGH. Any and all experience I can get will look super good on my resume. I get asked the question "what kind of nursing do you want to go in?" My answer every time is "I don't know" because I really don't know at this point. The experiences I've had at the VA are amazing but I don't know if I want to go into that kind of nursing as a career. I still have two more years of school left and I hope that I will find my niche at some time or another. Overall this summer has went by so fast. I think me working has made it go by even faster. But I guess it's back to the grindstone....no more lazy days of summer for this Boswell clan!
