A couple of weeks ago we decided to take the kids to Chicago for a couple of days. We asked Lisa if she wanted to come and she graciously agreed....so we headed to Chi-town with a long list of things we MUST do....soon after we arrived we realized that the MUST do's quickly became MAYBE do's. The kids were so excited to go and after what seemed like a really long drive we finally got there. Just seeing the lake and being in the city always makes me excited too. The first thing we did was check into our hotel which was really nice. It was on top of the Sun Times building right by the Chicago river. It had a great view of the lake and the river. The babies have never stayed in a hotel before so they were excited to jump on the beds and all the other fun stuff that comes with staying in a hotel. We decided to head to the Children's Museum but after we got there we decided to for go the museum. On the way to the Navy Pier we ran into some good friends of Lisa and Mike and they invited us to come and visit them at the condo they were staying at. It was amazing to say the least. I have always wondered what it would be like to go up into one of those fancy buildings right on Lake Shore but I guess I don't have to wonder anymore. The condo had an amazing view of the lake and Navy Pier from the balcony and when we went up on the roof of the building you could see the whole city. It was amazing!! After visiting with them for a little while we went to The Rainforest Cafe for dinner. If you haven't been to one it is probably one of the coolest restaurants you could ever go to. They have mechanical animals that look and act real....and the food is really good too. It was a nice dinner and a good way to enjoy each other. After dinner we headed back to the hotel and settled down for bed. Lisa slept with the babies and I am not for sure how much sleep she got...but I don't think she cared. After a quick trip to Wrigley Field on the train (the train was Maddux's favorite part) we went to the Lincoln Park Zoo. By the time we got to the zoo the kids were all tired and hot....so after a quick look we decided to call it a day. On the way back to the hotel to get our car Wrigley fell asleep on the bus...it was so cute. I had such a good time and enjoyed seeing the kid's faces when they saw all the things Brady and I are always talking about. Even though we jam packed a lot into a couple of days I think it was successful. The kids were really good and we got to spend a lot of time with Lisa which was great....I am glad we decided to go! It is something I will remember for a long time to come :)
